Terms, Returns and Refunds
These are the terms on which Oz Theatre Screens sells through HomeTheatre.com.au, including our returns and refunds policy. They are written in plain words; if anything is unclear, call us before you order.
Who you are buying from
Oz Theatre Screens is the trading name of the Ward Family Trust, ABN 47 059 083 083, PO Box 1292, Gympie Qld 4570, Australia. Office (07) 5408 3314, mobile 0402 424 177, email info (at) hometheatre.com.au, or use the contact form. Majestic screens are designed and made by us in Gympie. Projectors, mounts and lamps are genuine Australian stock supplied through the brands’ Australian distributors.
Prices
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The price shown when you place your order is the price you pay; we may change prices on the site at any time, but not for an order already placed. Where a product says “price on enquiry” or “call for our best price”, we confirm the price with you before anything is charged. Prices for custom screen sizes are quoted pro rata from the nearest stock size.
Ordering and payment
You can order online, by phone or by enquiry. Online you can pay by Visa or Mastercard through eWAY Australia, or order and pay by PayID or bank deposit. Card payments are processed by eWAY on their secure systems; we never see or store your card details. For PayID and bank deposit orders, nothing is charged until you pay; we confirm every order by phone or email, usually the same day, and work starts once payment has cleared.
Made to order
Every Majestic screen is made to your order in the size, format and fabric you choose. Standard sizes take about two weeks to make; custom sizes may take a little longer, and we tell you when we confirm the order. Because each screen is made for you, please check your measurements and format with us before ordering.
Delivery
Delivery within Australia is free with FedEx TNT, insured, and must be signed for on arrival. Screens over 4 metres in length cannot be sent by standard freight; for those sizes we arrange specialised transport with you before you commit, and the price shown online does not include it. Projectors ship direct from the brand’s head office or warehouse (JVC from Sydney, Epson from its warehouses) unless pickup is arranged. Pickup from Gympie can be arranged for any order; call first.
Stock and availability
Projector stock changes daily; where a model is on back order we say so on its page and give you the expected date when we confirm the order. If a model is discontinued or cannot be supplied, we tell you promptly and refund in full if you do not want the alternative we suggest.
Warranties
Majestic screens carry a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. Projectors, mounts and lamps carry their manufacturer’s Australian warranty, serviced through the brand’s authorised service centres. These warranties are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded. How to make a claim is set out under Returns and Refunds below.
Returns and Refunds
This is what happens if something is wrong with what you bought, and what we cannot take back.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing on this page takes those rights away.
Change of mind
We do not accept returns for change of mind. Every Majestic screen is made to order in your size, format and fabric, and projectors are supplied as new, sealed stock, so please check sizes, formats and models with us before you order. Call (07) 5408 3314 if you are unsure; we are happy to help you choose.
Faulty goods and warranty claims
Warranty claims are always accepted. If something is faulty, email info (at) hometheatre.com.au or call the office with your order reference, a description of the fault and a photo or two where that helps. We reply within one business day and arrange the next step with you; you do not pay for the assessment.
Majestic screens: in almost every case a fault is fixed by sending you the replacement part free of charge, with instructions, rather than returning the screen. If a screen does need to come back to us we arrange that with you and cover the freight for a warranty fault.
Projectors and other brand products: a warranty repair goes to the brand’s authorised service centre (JVC, Epson, Strong and so on), usually the one nearest to you, not back to us; we lodge the claim with the brand for you or put you in touch with them, whichever is quicker.
Damage in transit
All orders are sent insured and must be signed for. Please check the packaging when the courier arrives and, if you can, before you sign; if there is visible damage, note it with the courier and tell us the same day with photos of the packaging and the item. We replace anything damaged in transit at no cost to you. Please keep the packaging until the matter is settled.
Wrong item or missing parts
If we sent the wrong item, or a part is missing from your screen kit, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we send the right item or the missing part straight away, at our cost.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel an order at no cost at any time before it goes into production or dispatch; call us and we confirm by email. A made-to-order screen cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and a projector cannot be cancelled once it has shipped from the brand’s warehouse.
Refunds
Where a refund is due, it goes back to the payment method you used (card through eWAY, PayID or bank deposit) within 10 business days of the refund being agreed. We tell you by email when it has been sent.
Your responsibilities
Please give us a delivery address where someone can sign for the goods, check the packaging on arrival, and assemble and install the screen as described in the installation manual. Damage caused by incorrect assembly, installation or use is not covered by the warranty. If you are not sure about anything, call us before you start.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from a sale is limited to repairing or replacing the goods, or refunding what you paid for them. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy
How we handle your details is set out in our Privacy Policy.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If you have a complaint, call or email us first and we will do our best to sort it out; nothing here stops you taking a matter to the Office of Fair Trading or a court.
